Classifying Amharic Text Using Hierarchical Classification:  A Machine Learning Approach

Abstract-The advancement of the present day technology enables the production of huge amount of information. Retrieving useful information out of these huge collections necessitates proper organization and structuring. Automatic text classification is an inevitable solution in this regard. However, the present approach focuses on the flat classification, where each topic is treated as a separate class, which is inadequate in text classification where there are a large number of classes and a huge number of relevant features needed to distinguish between them. This paper explores the use of hierarchical structure for classifying a large, heterogeneous collection of Amharic News Text.

 

Modeling, Riccati-Sylvester Decoupling and Digital Multiloop Control of 3-DoF Gimbaled Stabilizing Platform (Part-I)

AbstractThis article presents the design and control of a 3 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) gimbaled stabilizing platform. The nonlinear system dynamics are modelled in the detail. The nonlinear quadruple of the system is simulated in MATLAB and is linearized using the Jacobian technique. The system order reduction is performed using Riccati-Sylvester transform. The decoupled system is simulated and a novel adaptive control algorithm is designed to regulate the position of the platform in 3-DoF. The experimental validation of the theoretically proposed controller is also presented by implementing the discrete time realization of the control algorithm using a digital controller interfaced in the real-time, using MATLAB/Simulink, in the Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) mode of operation.

Abstract - This article addresses the design and control of a 3 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) gimbaled stabilizing platform. Order reduction is performed using Riccati-Sylvester transform for the linear model of the plant, which is Jacobean linearized version of the nonlinear dynamics derived in part I of this work. An algorithm is presented for the transformation and is applied to the system. Variable Length Hash Algorithm using Random Number

Abstract- Integrity is very important during receiving of stored and transmitted data. Standard, SHA-1 algorithm used to ensure the integrity using fixed length digest but a mathematical collision found on SHA-1. Later, RC6_Hash algorithm et al [1] provided a technique in which it generates a variable size digest using a symmetric block cipher. It is time efficient but not secure enough as it has very low avalanche effect. In this paper a new hash algorithm is proposed with the same objective in which it generates variable size digest. Proposed algorithm uses a symmetric block cipher which is based on a random number which makes this algorithm time efficient and provides strength against any attack. Block cipher is used as a hash function to generate digest. Proposed algorithm uses digest of first block as a key to second block and so on. This increases the avalanche effect. The presented algorithm have time efficiency as well as enough secure to prove integrity over any received data.
